A Question Of (Player’s) Choice Or Questionable (Design) Choices?

In Dishonored, women are either killed, kidnapped, maids, or sex workers. Because of the first game’s criticism, Dishonored 2 made Emily Kaldwin one potential protagonist – and some may argue the true lead. While these improvements are welcomed, in a game where players make moral choices, it can be contested whether the implementation of a female playable protagonist and an increase in female characters is actually countering violence against women.
